Update

TLS 1.2 will no longer be supported for SmsDome API connections.

All API requests will require TLS 1.3.

Enforcement Date

18 March 2026, 09:00 SGT

(Previously postponed to allow more time for migration)

What this means

If your system is still using TLS 1.2, API requests will fail once enforcement is applied.

Why this change

This is an IMDA-mandated security requirement.
TLS 1.3 provides stronger encryption and removes outdated protocols.

What’s Next

If your systems are already on TLS 1.3, no action is required.

If unsure, test early to avoid service disruption.

Summary

Notice: TLS 1.3 Enforcement from 1 April 2026

In line with Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) security requirements, we will be enforcing Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.3 across our systems from 1 April 2026.

For most clients, no action is required, as modern systems and applications already support TLS 1.3 by default.

What this means for you:

  • From 1 April 2026 onwards, only TLS 1.3 connections will be supported.
  • Older protocols (TLS 1.0, 1.1, and 1.2) will be retired.

Do you need to take action?

  • If your systems are up to date, no changes are needed.
  • If you are using older systems or custom integrations, we recommend verifying that TLS 1.3 is supported to ensure uninterrupted connectivity.

This update is part of our ongoing efforts to enhance security and align with industry best practices.
